The brand-new Semiomantics XO 2012 for WordPress – soon to be released – will be the central topic of the first Ycademy Seminar 2012, to be held this coming weekend.

As “Publishing for Excellence” at “Web Design with Passion” demands consistent learning, experimenting, an adaptation to trends and almost daily reassurance of the script’s leading SEO performance, the global Semiomantics Team is currently testing the new script and exploring different ways of presenting themselves or their products and services online.

Semiomantics XO 2012 for WordPress

I am very pleased with the more adventurous ways we can explore with the new Semiomantics XO 2012 for WordPress… and I know we haven’t even started! I am looking forward to creating the Wedding Website on this extraordinary WordPress based script.

Sliders are the Trend 2012

With sliders being an important part of the Trend 2012 as Website Design and “the Look” are concerned, I am currently experimenting with a fading slider – although extremely frustrating with often failing Internet connections and extremely slow lines down here… it feels like the sun flare is targeting us specifically and knocking us out completely!

Besides using sliders in the header or sidebar widgets or even blog posts and pages, we can now use them even in the background – which opens a lot more creative options and perspective.

At the Ycademy Seminar, we will work on becoming familiar with the new features of the XO 2012 and improve our knowledge of CSS3, HTML5 and jQuery so we are in a position to ‘play’ with the script, explore new avenues and, last but not least, adapt XO to our customers’ needs.

To be continued. . .

Time for a quick check-up as to the performance of our current website development “Monkey Valley Resort”… here specifically as to how my article earlier today on the South African Band “Hot Water” ranks on Google.

Jokes aside, this is indeed a fantastic SEO performance – and here I am not talking about my own performance but that of Monkey Valley Resort – the new website I am still completing! Seeing it grabbing positions 3 and 4 on Google Top 10 within just a few minutes just makes my heart smile! Results like these – especially where my customers are concerned – give me the daily kick to continue these sometimes really not easy and very strenuous and time-consuming tasks, especially on terribly slow connections these days and a computer that’s running regularly out of memory… I will have to live with this for a small while still… but can’t wait to upgrade… drastically that is!

Besides, I was told that as per mid 2012 we may have optic fibre cables in South Africa and connections comparable to Europe… they’re as far as Nigeria… and we are at the far tip of the continent. So there’s hope and more on that in another post :)

The Value of User Generated Content

In yesterday’s workshop we clearly saw the Value of User Generated Content in the context of Social Media by watching the incredible video “Battle at Kruger” – content generated by a user without cost, content uploaded to YouTube without cost and content distributed – meaning marketed – by users without cost: meanwhile one of YouTube’s most watched videos (I think over 64 million times!) with tons of comments, some awards and lots of recognition, including on the National Geographic Channel.

Was it a master piece? Yes and no. Surely not in terms of video quality; but it was an 8 minute video of a unique and absolutely thrilling experience in the Kruger National Park in South Africa, featuring a dramatic battle between buffalos, lions and crocodiles… an 8 minute video that found its way to over 64 million Internet users at no cost! That indeed was masterful!

To produce such a video in the traditional professional way – say for an advertising campaign – would have cost several million dollars for sure. Having lived in the wild parts of South Africa long enough, I know this was an absolute unique moment… a real lucky shot!

The fact is that this video could well have been shot by most of us… provided we had been at the right time at the right place and… and this is critical: and have a video camera in hand, meaning being prepared! being ready for just anything that would happen! That’s the point, that’s what Internet Marketers of today have to learn: being media-prepared!

Had I been prepared with my digital camera today I could have captured the most amazing pictures of a beautiful peacock walzing towards me flashing his colorful wheel! As this wasn’t the case, here are some Noordhoek Garden Photos as promised… that’s what spring is like in my garden…

Noordhoek Garden Photos

More Noordhoek Garden Photos… here is MadMax chasing through the pink heath to catch his special friend, the mongoose! This definitely is HIS territory!

Well, sorry – it’s not quite a match for “Battle at Kruger” – again, I didn’t have the camera when the real thing happened: the real chase and battle between the two… when it really got wild and nasty!

User Generated Content

Some more User Generated Content : the view from my kitchen showing a small dam by far not full yet… more rains needed! The heron is extremely vigilant; I had to be quick and he flew off in a second…

Why do I suddenly switch to something technical like “User Generated Content”?

Well, as this article and its photos – called ‘content’ – will now travel on their virtual journey through the YORGOO Publishing Network… where it is also fed into Social Networks like Facebook, this is exactly what happens to a post that’s initially produced by a user and published on the Internet! It’s something you no longer ‘own’ – it becomes viral! Others may like it, copy it, share it with friends – whatever! It’s something you as a user give away… once on the Internet it’s out of your hand. However…. as Social Networks have become such an important integral part of the Internet today, recent research shows that user generated content creates more trust in users than traditional advertising.

Social Media Marketing

In fact, using User Generated Content is a very efficient Social Media Marketing Tool and it is smartly used by the ‘big boyz’ out there who encourage users to post articles, reviews, photos and videos on their websites – be it Social Networks like Facebook, YouTube etc, Newspapers, Travel Agencies or any big company out there. In fact, these thoughts were very much triggered by the recent E-Travel Africa Summit I attended last week in Cape Town. We all agree that firstly any fresh content – that the powerful Google search engine is constantly looking for – helps them (the big boyz) to reach top rankings, and secondly they have learned to stay rather passively in the background and let people actively talking to people – as they do all day long on Social Networks – do the deal for them! As ‘friends’ listen to ‘friends’ works better than any marketer’s sales pitch, we are back to the good old ‘relationship marketing’ or ‘word of mouth’, meaning people talking to people and recommending what they like (or don’t) – only it’s all done online!

Brilliant! So we are back to the future and it’s all very viral. And of course, cool!

This forces anyone with a business online to take Social Media serious and ‘have a foot in there’. It can no longer be ignored… like it or not! It’s something we’ve been teaching at Ycademy since a while: any business needs to be visible on:

Google Top 10
Social Networks, eg. Facebook,Twitter
Mobile Web, eg. Smartphones, iPhones.

There’s no way around it…

Join the next Ycademy Seminar this coming weekend (23 and 24 September 2011) and learn all about Social Media Marketing!

Just as a powerful voice attracts the attention of an audience, the performance of our websites and blogs is measured in terms of Google efficiency, meaning does our website publishing reach Google Top 10?
While this young lady performed at the Eid ul-Fitr Celebrations 2011 – singing with a beautiful, strong voice – our instrument as web designers is – to a certain extent – the search engine Google! Just as a powerful voice attracts the attention of an audience, the performance of our websites and blogs is measured in terms of Google efficiency, meaning does our website publishing reach Google Top 10?

Performance stands before attraction – first our articles and media content have to be found by those looking for it… once that first step has been accomplished, it’s all about captivating the visitor’s attention with good information presented in an attractive and user-friendly way.

Eid ul-Fitr Celebrations 2011 on Google

Reaching Google Top 10 always deserves at least a little mental celebration as it’s proof of hard work and dedication – even and especially with a script like the WordPress based Semiomantics XO! While one should be used to this kind of extraordinary performance, it still astounds me to this day…

Having said this, let’s look at what our various articles on the “Eid ul-Fitr Celebrations 2011″ have achieved so far on Google…

To start with, here’s the first shot: Position 1 on Google on 2,990,000 results within 13 minutes! Celebration! I know that, hours later, we occupied 5 out of 10 positions on Google Top 10!

And here – a surpise I stumbled across… under the title “Festival of Generosity”: a fantastic position 2 of 12,200,000 search returns:

Semiomantics Festival 2011

Definitely time for a Semiomantics Festival 2011! Let’s celebrate!

The Importance of Daily Postings – not necessarily long but regular, meaningful and contextual articles that is – may not be under-estimated especially in the early times of a new CMS.

We monitor the performance of the websites and blogs created on our WP based Semiomantics Scripts very closely to ensure the customer – in this case Magnetic Transport Surplus in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines – has properly understood and applies the correct basic principles in terms of Online Editing and Online Publishing and – based on his efforts – gets the corresponding exposure on search engines, i.e. Traffic to his targeted keywords and topics of interest. Traffic translates into inquiries, direct communication between seller and potential buyer – and, eventually sales. The more Traffic, the more Conversion – that’s simple mathematics.

The Importance of Daily Postings and Google

So how are the Importance of Daily Postings and Google connected?

Simple: search engine spyders need fresh, daily content – it’s what fuels them, what gets them excited, what makes them tick so to speak! They crawl all the time across the web looking for that: fresh content! Hungry monsters they are… but they reward us by positioning our posts where we target… at least with the right script and optimization! While they cannot evaluate the quality of the content, they look for certain ‘hooks’ and, once satisfied, send us some ‘flowers’ and move on on their unstoppable virtual journey.

Magnetic Transport on Google Top 10

I checked the latest submissions by Magnetic Transport Surplus to see their positioning on Google Top 10, here’s the example “Isuzu CXZ71U 10PD1 Dump Truck” – you can click on the images to enlarge them for better vision:

While it’s a small search term, there still seems to be a lot of interest as we can deduct from the Google Ads – and Magnetic Transport occupies spot 1 on Google Top 10 and… as you can see… even the next positions.

A customer looking up exactly this keyword on Google will have the choice between the 10 websites on the left and the ads (3 above and a couple to the right).

As Magnetic Transport occupies a number of positions on the left side, chances are big they capture the customer’s interest. Any person looking at their website costs Magnetic Transport nothing, not a cent.

If however the person checks out the various ads (on top and to the right, i.e. AdSense), each click will cost the owner of the ad – with no guarantees. If say 100 people click on Magnetic Transport, chances are big this leads to some form of exchange… especially as Magnetic Transport occupies, in this case, 4 out of the 10 top positions.

If these 100 people click on the various ads instead, firstly the clicks will be diluted between the various advertisers – and secondly each click costs the corresponding advertiser. Calculate the value of a click – is it $1? Is it $11? Depending on the daily budget of the advertiser, he can take a certain number of clicks until he disappears from the radar – depending on his daily advertising budget. Is it $100? Is it $1000?

Not so for Magnetic Transport who have invested in an excellent CMS setup on Semiomantics and learned some basic Online Publishing skills. Here, each click will count for them in terms of Traffic. What they are interested in is to offer customers what they are looking for at the right place: on Google Top 10 – meaning: what do they punch in as a search term? Isuzu Mixer truck? Isuzu 10PD1? The differences can be huge depending on the actual terminology you choose – just study the two images as an example… and it’s the same product:

The solution is not in the “either or” – it’s in spreading through study, research, effort and – most importantly – a razor-sharp goal in mind. Magnetic Transport is not limited by any financial budget of doing that and positioning themselves exactly and wherever it’s relevant for them to be found.

Semiomantics Web Design reaches the customer only once properly indexed on Google; it’s then up to the customer to expand his positions and build his authority… and this largely depends on regular daily postings!

WordPress Marketing – with a focus on Email Marketing and Affiliate Marketing – is the theme of this month’s Ycademy Seminar, starting this coming Saturday at 1 pm London and ending on Sunday, around 10 pm London. All seminar participants will learn how to turn their WordPress CMS – namely their Semiomantics Author Blog – into a powerful Marketing machine.

WordPress Marketing

Having developed our own Semiomantics Product and built – over a number of years – the Semiomantics XO Publishing Framework with its strong emphasis on SEO and high visibility on Google Top 10, it’s time to get back to Online Marketing, especially WordPress Marketing, based on our WP based and powered themes.

To this day, Email Marketing is highly efficient, but it needs the right knowhow and skills to be used in the correct form, from individual emailing to landing pages with double optins to Autoresponders, Newsletters etc … and for all of this the right tools and the right etiquette to avoid spam complaints and IP blacklisting.

Affiliate Marketing is and has always been successful and is, in my view, “… the marketing way of the net”: help me market my product and get a commission on each sale. As simple as that. However, there are important issue to be considered to ensure a safe link tracking especially when it comes to automated link promotion. As many members on the Ycademy network promote Affiliate Links – be it from Amazon or Autopart dealers – this needs to be addressed in the right way. Last but not least, we all have our own shop and products to sell – so yet another important and interesting issue to address and integrate in a smart and efficient way.

As usual, the weekend Seminar risks not having sufficient hours in the day :)

Why WordPress Semiomantics is the Best Theme

Within the context of WordPress Marketing we have always monitored the performance of our articles on search engines, especially Google, and here only Google Top 10 counts – as who has time to look any further?

As such, my screenshots serve to proove the performance of our WordPress based Semiomantics CMS and, as we see below from yesterday’s article results, it’s quite clear why WordPress Semiomantics is the best theme:

WordPress Marketing on a WP based Semiomantics CMS is the most cost-efficient way of bringing your product or service to a maximum number of peoples’ attention in terms of Website Publishing – fast and reliable. We show it every day – and so do our customers on their brand-new CMS. It’s really the smart and economic way to go!
